Cash grants towards Nursing, Hospital and Home Help for Officers' Families

Benefits

Cash grants are made towards meeting the expenses incurred by the illness of a member's "dependant", as follows:

Maximum Grant
  • Temporary nursing care in Hospital or Nursing Home £1540.00 p.w.
  • Temporary employment of a Qualified Nurse at home £315.00 p.w.
  • Convalescence away from home (in country of domicile) £315.00 p.w.
  • Temporary Home Help (necessitated by a dependant's illness) £196.00 p.w.
  • A member who has received nursing benefit in respect of eight weeks of illness (whether consecutive or otherwise) in a period of twelve months shall not be entitled to any further nursing benefit during that period of twelve months, except in the case of Rule 6(2)(c)(i)(d) when the maximum period in a period of twelve months will be fifteen weeks, but the overall total will be capped at £2,352.00, equivalent to twelve weeks at the maximum payable of £196.00 per week.
