Upcoming AGM, 18th June

NOTICE TO ALL LGF MEMBERS OF THE UPCOMING AGM, 18TH JUNE 2024.

 

This is a friendly reminder that your next AGM is happening on Tuesday 18th June, 2024 at 2pm. We’ll be voting on some key changes (outlined below), including, a name change for your Fund, opening up membership to all service ranks – a massive opportunity for the Fund’s future growth – as well as Group Membership for sponsor organisations.

Following the success of hosting meetings online, in order to maximise attendance, this AGM will be taking place via Microsoft Teams.

If you’re a LGF member, we would love you to join us, simply contact: secretary@ladygrover.org.uk and we’ll send you the meeting papers, along with instructions on how to join via Teams.

Unable to attend? Vote by proxy

If you’re unable to attend the AGM online, you can vote by proxy on both resolutions via Jon Brittain, the Chairman of the Management Committee.  Simply email your votes to: chairman@ladygrover.org.uk by Monday 17th June 2024.

DETAILS OF CHANGES BEING VOTED ON
Notice is given on two ordinary resolutions for ratification.

Resolution 1:
“That the change of the Society’s name to ‘Lady Grover’s Friendly Society Limited” approved by the Committee of Management on 16 April 2024 be and it is hereby approved and ratified.”

Resolution 2:
“That the Rules of the Society approved by the Committee of Management on 16 April 2024 and registered with the Financial Conduct Authority to take effect on 1 July 2024 be and they hereby are approved and ratified.”

Changes:
Resolution 1:
Registered name change from Lady Grover’s Hospital Fund for Officers’ Families Limited to Lady Grover’s Friendly Society Limited.

Resolution 2 includes:
i. Opening the Fund to all Service Personnel*, past and present and their dependents based on the rules given.
ii. Incorporating a Group Membership option for interested sponsor organisations who provide an agreed lump-sum payment to cover the subscriptions of the group members, for the term of the agreement, as well as administrative costs.

* The MODs definition of Service Personnel includes any person who has been a member of the UK armed forces, associated nursing services or Royal Fleet Auxiliary for a minimum of one day.
